11 for 2011

When I go shopping I tend to wander around with no plan. Recently as I've stared into my closet for upwards of 20 and 30 minutes at a time wondering what to wear I've realized that my shopping methods might be to blame for my lack of options. So I've come up with a plan for 2011. I've chosen 11 pieces that I'd really like as staples; pieces that I love and that I know I'd wear. Instead of wandering aimlessly, I'm shopping with a plan. Some of these things I already have, but below is what I'd like to collect over 2011.

    such a great plan. i need to get into the habit of buying good quality staples - even though the price tag might make me flinch, at least it'll be something i can wear for years. the problem is i can't seem to buy just one thing at a time.

    (these days have just been avoiding shopping altogether)

    this is a great list. I have the same problem. I buy stuff I like and they never get worn. my closet is pretty full but I find myself standing for a good 3-4 minutes thinking "what should I wear?" and I hate it.

    I love the selection of items that you've put together! I really think the idea of approaching your shopping/collecting with a plan is smart & wonderful... I should put together a collage like that to give myself a purpose! Love it :o)

    i love your choices, especially the satchel... I am planning a chldren's runway show and that gave me the idea for them to each wear one on the runway possibly.

    Those would be handy staples! I've been on the lookout for a good trench for ages!

    I have a terrible habit of shopping only on sales racks, and compromising what I actually want and would wear with what's a good deal.

    You may have inspired to do this whole "shop with a plan" thing.

    These are all really great pieces to have. I often shop with a plan but end up giving in to impulse, thus creating some problems and sometimes regret.
