In the meantime I'm mesmorized by the photography of of David Maisel. He shoots aerial images of environmentally impacted areas. The pictures below are of forrests, rivers, and mines. Amazing, right? I love this quote by the LA Times "Maisel's work over the past two decades has argued for an expanded definition of beauty, one that bypasses glamour to encompass the damaged, the transmuted, the decomposed."

wow! These images are beautiful, but also a little haunting.
ReplyDeleteWow, those are amazing. I love the quote too. I'm an environmental activist by trade with a love of "beautiful things" and it's rare that my two passions intersect so perfectly.
ReplyDeleteWow, they're great! I thought it were paintings before I saw the last picture.
