Rachel sent over the newest Spring/Summer 2012 Academy Jewelry look book and it is lovely- no surprise there. I've been dropping hints to Andrew about wanting the arc necklace for our upcoming three year wedding anniversary. We'll see if he's been paying attention or not soon enough. Her beautiful jewelry is for sale here, here and here and you can see the complete look book here!

The Woodstock Foundry + Dear Rae Jewelry

I'm back with the final two shops from the Woodstock Foundry this week! Today we're taking a look at Dear Rae Jewelry. It's such a treat to have Karin's shop at the Foundry- it's lovely, full of light and every time I go in I find something I want to buy (those brass bangles are next on my list). Karin's shop also doubles as her studio- so you get to see her hard at work making the beautiful things on the shelves. It's such a great concept. She sells all over Cape Town but her shop is not to be missed so make sure to stop by!

Remember Palomarie? Well they've just come out with their S/S 2012 Collection and I am in love! Take a look at their beautiful lookbook below and find their shop here. I'm definitely planning on making one or two of these pieces mine.

Holy smokes I love the recent collaboration between photographer Eefje De Coninck and Kathryn Blackmore of Vamoose. So inspiring, it's got my brain buzzing with ideas. Vamoose jewelry has been a long time favorite of mine- so happy to know about Eefje and her beautiful work. Thanks to Margot for the heads up!

Oh man I'm loving Dear Rae's newest additions to her already amazing jewelry line. The new look book also features my beautiful friend Jen modeling! Hooray for talented and beautiful friends!

Beautiful jewelry by Sophie Monet. I especially love her rings- but this necklace is also a favorite.

Just discovered this cute Etsy shop by Cristina Pires. I especially like their necklaces. From where else but Sweden.

A few weeks back for my birthday, I received the best present from my friend Erin- a damascene pendant. I'm now completely enamored with this beautiful style of jewelry that has its origins in ancient Greece. Damascening is the technique of inlaying different metals into one another. I was so excited when I got it, that my mom ran upstairs and returned with a damascene bracelet and earrings that had belonged to my grandmother- it was like Christmas morning.
I like the idea of finding little objects that you love and making necklaces out of them. Adding them to a chain and creating your own little vibe. I don't know if that's what happened here but I like to think it did.

I discovered Anica's online store the other day and you better believe it's a new favorite. Check out the jewels that were waiting for me. I'm in love with this necklace and these stackable rings but they have so much more. Take a look for yourself.

I've been wanting to do a post on my friend Karin's jewelry line for a while now. It's called Dear Rae and it is beautiful! Here are some of my favorites but she's got so much more to choose from- there is definitely something for everyone. She's located here in Cape Town and her line is carried in a few stores around town. She also makes custom jewelry and is so much fun to work with. To see more visit her website here.
