To say February's cake is a bit of a disappointment would be an understatement. It has several problems, but the biggest one (as you can see) is the frosting. I decided to use a cream cheese, whipped cream, strawberry, powdered sugar combo frosting and while it is delicious it was way too runny to ice the cake with, even after sitting in the refrigerator for an hour. Cake making is hard guys. To see January's cake go here.

Oh! I still looooove it. I have a yummy chef friend who likes to talk about the 'love' that is put into food. He will eat anything made with love and respect it. Meanwhile no love for anything processed or mass-produced. Your February cake is full of love and really, the presentation is delightful! Poinsettia!
ReplyDeleteStill looks beautiful!
ReplyDeletestill sounds delicious to me:)

ReplyDeletecakes ARE hard-deceivingly hard.
ReplyDeleteI would still eat this lovely cake-the ingredients all sound heavenly.
Also I love Erin's comment about eating foods that are made with love. You really can taste the difference!

I love that cake stand. Also, please remember the souffle you made at the beach house-- I think it covers a multitude of baking 'sins'.
ReplyDeletestill looks super yummy Mariah!
ReplyDeleteI've never had much success with cakes. I'd like to try though! But having a whole cake in the house is not safe, I'd probably eat it all. Your cake still looks delicious :)
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely not as easy as it should be. I always struggle with frosting. I've just given up on trying to make it look nice, because for me, as long as it tastes good then I've succeeded!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
I actually think it looks great!
