Budapest Is Now On The List

Tuesday, February 8, 2011

Budapest is now on the list of places I'd like to go thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Globe Trot. They recently got married in September and decided to take half a year and travel the world- not a bad idea. These are some of their pictures from the Hungarian public baths.

  4. Oh for sure! Budapest has been on my to-visit list since I watched the HGTV House Hunters International show that aired a few years ago. The history, art, architecture, and up-and-coming young artists' scene are very inspiring. However, I didn't know about the public baths....those are beautiful!

  10. Hi Mariah. Thanks for sharing our blog with your readers!

I don't understand why more countries don't have public baths. We all seem to love them, right?

  11. szechenyi baths! my boyfriend (now hubs!) and i traveled to budapest in 2006 together and made a stop at the szechenyi baths. it was so breathtakingly gorgeous in that courtyard... very different from the deeply depressing rest of the city...

  12. The bath can be found in the City Park, and was built in 1913 in Neo-baroque style to the design of Győző Czigler.

The history of Budapest began with Aquincum, originally a Celtic settlement that became the Roman capital of Lower Pannonia. Hungarians arrived in the territory in the 9th century.
    old........and beautiful......................
