To say February's cake is a bit of a disappointment would be an understatement. It has several problems, but the biggest one (as you can see) is the frosting. I decided to use a cream cheese, whipped cream, strawberry, powdered sugar combo frosting and while it is delicious it was way too runny to ice the cake with, even after sitting in the refrigerator for an hour. Cake making is hard guys. To see January's cake go here.
If Marilyn Monroe were still alive, she'd be wearing Elie Saab's Spring 2011 Couture Collection.

Every single dress that came down the runway of Elie Saab's Spring 2011 Couture Collection was shatteringly beautiful. I had been looking for a designer to match Marilyn for a while with no luck. Then I saw Elie's, form fitting, low cut evening gowns and knew there had to be something there for Marilyn (who was notorious for wearing tight, low cut dresses). It's a perfect match. If you haven't seen this collection it's definitely worth a look. And if you haven't seen the other "Now & Then" ladies they're also worth a look- you can go here to do that.

It's called Speckled Spectacle and I think it's wonderful. It also makes me want to have a baby so I can put it up in his or her room. Maybe I'll just give it to a friend with a baby- less work than the first option.
A Valentines Day triangle for you (instead of a heart- if that wasn't obvious). Will we ever get over triangles? I'm certainly not tired of them.

You knew Rachel Comey was going to get an entire post dedicated solely to her genius. I love the colors and patterns in this collection- I think she always does that so well. The hair freaks me out but otherwise here are my favorite looks from my favorite designers Fall RTW 2011 Collection.

I'm completely in love with the artwork of Louise Despont. Isn't it beautiful? I had a hard time picking just a few. See more of her magical work here.

I love K. Dunst in this shoot for Boy by Band of Outsiders. She looks so cute and quirky like she could be a character out of The Royal Tenenbaums.

This dress got snapped up on Troubadour Vintage before I even had a chance to contemplate purchasing it. I could never run a vintage shop- I'd just end up keeping everything for myself.
Budapest is now on the list of places I'd like to go thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Globe Trot. They recently got married in September and decided to take half a year and travel the world- not a bad idea. These are some of their pictures from the Hungarian public baths.

French artist Marie Caudry has the most wonderful collection of illustrations, full of bearded ladies, knights, and whales. It feels like they all came straight from her 9 year old imagination. She's also illustrated several children's books- my favorite is "La Balade de Max".

Last week I mentioned Na Nin Vintage joining the Need family. Take a look at their stunning Look Book.

It's official! Two of my favorite shops, Need Supply Co. and Na Nin Vintage are getting married! Starting today you'll be able to find Na Nin Vintage treasures at Need! Today also happens to be Need's 15th birthday and to celebrate they're having a party and sale. If you're in Richmond, VA stop by their store between 6-8pm for all the fun. And for those of us out of the area- we can still partake in the SALE. Now I can't wait to see the adorable vintage babies they make.

I've got wedding brain. With four of my good friends getting married this year (two of them in the next two months) I've been submerged in the wonderful world of wedding planning. I've been staring at pictures of cakes and flowers and decorations and dresses for way too long and now it feels like my eyeballs are going to fall out of my head. Thankfully they stayed attached long enough for me to find these delightful pictures from the Vintage Bride Flickr Group. The first couple is my favorite.

When I saw these pictures of artist Lizzy Janssen's home I literally had to pick my jaw up off the floor. I was thinking about doing a little photo tour of my space but now I'm scared.
