This week Andrew and I celebrate one year of marriage- on Sunday. We'll officially no longer be newlyweds- sad. But! to celebrate I'll post some fun things from our wedding. I'd get married again every single year if I could- it was so much fun. But since I can't I'll share my pictures instead. More later in the week...
I hope these two trends stick around for at least a little while. Scarves worn in hair and small, box purses.

On Wednesday I'm participating in Pin It Forward. By then I will have created a pin board on what home means to me that I will be sharing. It's a great theme for me since in the past year I got married and moved to South Africa with my husband- Andrew. Now I'm trying to create a home in a new country and new culture with our families very far away. Oh my.
I was wandering around Bloesm Kids trying to find a birthday present for my niece when I saw these. Patches from a quilt made by Elsie Marley. I want the quilt that these patches go on.

I'm not sure if this is still going on but Le Creative Sweatshop launched a global paper virus, demonstrating that art, beauty and creativity is everywhere. And the best part is anyone can participate! Just email them and they will send you two hundred ready to fold "paper viruses" with a dot of glue on the back of each. Just fold and stick to create your own paper virus installation in your city, then take a picture and send back to them. So I think I'm going to do it. There's a wall in my neighborhood that's just dying to be covered.

I'm a little bit dying over this girls look. She's probably from somewhere magical like Sweden or Norway.

The act of illicitly cultivating neglected, orphaned land- that's Guerrilla Gardening and it's a global movement that has been growing over the past several years. I Would love to have this book on my bookshelf. Learn to make homemade seed bombs, "green"graffiti, vandalize with sod and more. You can buy the book at Amazon and check out the author's website to learn more!
I've never been a big fan of the espadrille look but I have to say, they are growing on me, especially this one by Toms Shoes. I could definitely wear this shoe. The other day I saw boy walking down the street wearing a pair and he looked so cute in them! I wonder if Andrew could pull them off? You definitely have to have the right look. They've also got new styles and prints on their website. Make sure to check them out.
I got so excited on Friday about the bike party idea (here) that I made a mood board for it over the weekend.

I've been loving wallpaper lately. Maybe because there are so many fun choices around these days. Whatever the reason, I'd love to do a wall in my house.

Aren't these bicycles fun! It makes me want to plan a bicycle party where everyone has to come with their bike decorated. Then you would take one giant bike ride through the city and have a picnic in the park! Maybe I just figured out what to do for my birthday in September...

I was wandering around Neet Magazine yesterday and found Manu necklaces. Wonderful- and the photography and styling is equally wonderful. I kind of wish I was the girl in the tiger mask.

Lovely, lovely work by artist Lizzy Janssen. I always thought that if I were an artist I would do collages. I'm really, really good at collages. For serious.

I found this blog just recently and oh man- I love it. Mallory is the author and brains behind Where The Lovely Things Are and it is full of so much good stuff. I don't know where she finds it all. Here's a peak at some of the loveliness you will find.

I love this portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Every time I go into a second hand or antique shop I always keep my eyes open. If anyone has any ideas where I could find one let me know!

Fall is turning into winter here in Cape Town. It's raining and cold out and I'd like nothing more than to stay curled up in bed this morning. But I've got a birthday party to plan and a baby Daniel to pick up! Be back tomorrow!
